Maree Caldow

The Caldow Harness Racing Stable is a team affair consisting of husband and wife combination John and Maree Caldow. They are situated at Raidora Lodge in Melton, just a stone's throw from the home of harness racing, Tabcorp Park.

Maree has been training in her own right since 1998 and is the official trainer of the Caldow Harness Racing Stable. The stable driver is husband John, one of Australia's leading freelance reinsperson and also the holder of the Australian record for the most consecutive century of wins as a reinsman. The record is currently 18 years, starting in season 1991/92 and still going strong now.

Maree has trained more than 500 winners in her short training career with earnings of more than $3.5 Million. She has seven Group One victories to her credit however her most cherished victory is the 2007 $35,000 Redwood Classic (Group 2) won by Lord Of The Gym. This race is held at Maryborough, her childhood town.

Raidora Lodge always consists of a mixture of pacers and trotters and usually a top juvenile is amongst them.

Always bubbly and enthusiastic, Maree can always be found at the races either helping gear up or hose down her charges or entertaining her owners.

Away from the stables and track, Maree enjoys the company of her two children Matthew and Lauren and if time permits, going out for dinner and catching a movie with John and friends. Maree also likes to watch her beloved Cats and was cheering loudly with daughter Lauren at the MCG when they broke their premiership drought in 2007.

Maree has been an Australia Day Ambassador for the past 6 years and this year was made a Life Member of the Australia Day Ambassador Program.
