Busy times for Raceapacer

Things have been getting busy with Raceapacer with lots of our horses running and trialling this week.

Last night saw In The Frame Lombo return to the racetrack at his local track Ararat. He worked hard early from his outside draw before driver Leroy O’Brien was able to take a sit on eventual winner Kickittochris. Being a little fresh, he pulled a touch, which affected his finishing burst but he did box on strongly to finish runner up.

That run should do him the world of good and judging by the first up effort, he should be competitive in any race trainer Brooke Hansen selects for him.

Rhodium Castle races this Friday Night at Tabcorp Park Melton and again the barrier draw gods have been against Raceapacer. She has drawn barrier 7 in a 9 horse field with concession reinsman Bob Butt taking the reins.

This appears an easier field than her latest runs but the wide draw makes things tricky. Leading price assessor Bill 'Hutchy' Hutchison has marked her a $3.50 second favourite. Below is his form commentary for the race.
 

TOP PICK:   TAKE TIME TO SMILE NZ (9) beat winner since, Sheez The Barmaid, here a month ago, then backed up with a fast finishing Geelong success before having no luck and making late ground for fourth at Kilmore last week and she just gets the nod.

DANGER: WELL HELLO DOLLY (6) won back-to-back here and at Yarra Valley, then ran third from the breeze Mark Dennis on this circuit before not getting into the race but making good ground for fourth at Geelong last week.  A return to the front line will help.

OTHERS: RHODIUM CASTLE (7) mixed it with the top fillies last season but hasn’t quite gone on with it this term.  She finished strongly when a $1.30 favourite second here two starts back, then was badly shut in on this circuit last week and rates pretty much equal to the top two picks.  WATERSLIDE (3) hasn’t won for a long time but was a brave second in a track record 1:53.1 sprint affair at Bendigo last week and has each way claims along with, to a lesser extent, LINGA LONGA LASS (4) and SHAKCHLOE (8)
